How many electric vans are there in the UK?
As of the end of October 2023, Zapmap estimated that there were more than 50,427 electric vans operating in the UK. This follows a huge increase in electric van sales in 2022, with almost 17,000 new battery-electric vans being registered – an increase of 30% compared to 2021 figures.
Given that on average around 1500 new battery-electric vans have been registered each month of 2023 so far, it’s likely that we’ll see a similar total number of registrations this year, if not another increase. Regardless of the specific total for 2023, it’s clear that their growth in popularity isn’t stopping anytime soon.
What factors contribute to the increase in electric van sales?
One key factor is the increased demand for electric vans, as many are now realising the environmental and economic benefits of making the switch.
